Sweet Julia is Free Now

Our beautiful girl left her body this morning. She was so happy at the end, cradled in her mom's arms with daddy by her side and so much love surrounding her. We sang and talked with her, and at the very end we took her outside to a beautiful garden where birds were singing and a sweet cat came to sit on our laps. So many tears, but also joy that she is free from the struggles she has endured with such grace and strength. She left so peacefully, and as Grammie Jen says, "My angel is now truly an angel her spirit is in us all! Her spirit will live on in us all in purple butterflies and flying high in hot air balloons! We are the sad ones but know she is at peace and enfolded in all love."
Love to everyone,

  12. It's hard to know just what to say,
When one so young is taken away.
Far too soon she had to part,
Her memory forever engraved in our heart.

We only knew her for a short while,
But the life she led made us smile.
She was so beautiful and oh so rare,
Life as they say just isn't fair.

Those gone before her will watch her with care,
Till the day comes when we'll all join her there.

Know Julia is watching from heaven above,
And with each ray of sunshine, she's sending her love.

  19. Dear Carrie, Glenn, Jennifer and all...I want to share a poem with you, that I hope you find healing. Sending love!

    By John O'Donohue
Though we need to weep your loss,
You dwell in that safe place in our hearts,
Where no storm or might or pain can reach you.

Your love was like the dawn
    Brightening over our lives
    Awakening beneath the dark
    A further adventure of colour.

    The sound of your voice
    Found for us
    A new music
    That brightened everything.

Whatever you enfolded in your gaze
    Quickened in the joy of its being;
    You placed smiles like flowers
On the altar of the heart.
    Your mind always sparkled
    With wonder at things.

Though your days here were brief,
Your spirit was live, awake, complete.

We look towards each other no longer
    From the old distance of our names;
Now you dwell inside the rhythm of breath,
As close to us as we are to ourselves.

Though we cannot see you with outward eyes,
We know our soul's gaze is upon your face,
Smiling back at us from within everything
To which we bring our best refinement.

Let us not look for you only in memory,
Where we would grow lonely without you.
You would want us to find you in presence,
    Beside us when beauty brightens,
    When kindness glows
    And music echoes eternal tones.

    When orchids brighten the earth,
    Darkest winter has turned to spring;
May this dark grief flower with hope
In every heart that loves you.

May you continue to inspire us:

To enter each day with a generous heart.
To serve the call of courage and love
Until we see your beautiful face again
In that land where there is no more separation,
Where all tears will be wiped from our mind,
And where we will never lose you again.

  20. I am so very sorry to hear this saddest of news. I never met Julia, but can see her beautiful spirit shining through her photos and her brave story. I have to believe that God has a very special need and purpose for Julia, to have called her back to heaven so soon. Although no words can take away your pain, I pray that the Savior will wrap His arms around you and give you peace and comfort at this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
