Julia has been working so hard to open her eyes today and throughout
last night. She is starting to be able to shift her eyes to follow
voices, especially when she hears her mom's voice reading to Amanda on
the other side of the room.
The medical team is doing their best
to address all of Julia's competing needs, and it is quite a balancing
act. It looks likely that in the next week she will be given a
tracheotomy and have a feeding tube placed directly into her duodenum.
These procedures aren't scheduled yet, but the goal is for them to be
coordinated with each other so she will only need to be under anesthetic
 once.

Hang in there Julia! Modern medicine can work miracles if you can provide the tenaciousness. We're rootin' for you! Love, Melody and Dennis
